1937 was one hell of a year, especially in Kansas City. Boss Tom Pendergast was under investigation; a sit-down strike raged at the Ford Motor Plant; A. Phillip Randolph, president of the Brotherhood of Pullman Porters, spoke at the Paseo Baptist Church, and the CIO was on the rise.
A two-act humorous, dramatic, inspiring and fact-based take on class, race and gender struggles during the last Great Depression, using drama, comedy and labor music.
