KKFI Jazz calendar for December 9 – December 15

 This is the KKFI jazz calendar for December 9th – December 15th. This is shared for the benefit of jazz music lovers. Please check with the music venues to confirm details of the events. All times are Central Standard Time. All performances are afternoon or evening shows except where indicated with words like “noon” or “brunch.”

Monday, December 9th

• The Green Lady Lounge at 18^th and Grand presents the Brian Baggett Trio from 6:00 – 10:00 followed by The Mark Slimm Organ Trio, 10:30 to 2:30  

               Eddie V’s at 700 West 47th Street features the Emily Dix Collective from 6:30 – 9:30.

• The Blue Room Monday Night Jam Session starts at 7:00 pm and is hosted by Earnest Melton. Musicians bring your axe

       The Majestic at 931 Broadway presents Mike Pagan from 6:00 to 9:00

• Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has live music from 6-10.

Tuesday December 10th

• The Kauffman Center presents the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra’s “Charlie Brown Christmas” at 7:00pm
• The Green Lady Lounge at 18th and Grand presents the Jeff Shirley Trio from 6:00 – 10:00, followed by The Reyes Brothers Organ Trio from 10:30 to 2:30 am
• Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has live music from 6-10.
• Eddie V’s at 700 West 47th Street presents the Tim Reid Trio from 6:30 – 9:30. 
• The Majestic at 931 Broadway has Matt Villinger from 6:00-9:00
• The Phoenix at 8th and Central hosts a jam session with Rob Trib III from 7 – 11pm. Musicians bring your ax
• The Uptown Lounge hosts a  Jam Session with Parker Woolworth, Jordan Faught and Julian Goff from 7 – Midnight
• Café Trio at 4558 Main features Michael Pagan from 5:00 – 8:00

Wednesday, December 11th

The Green Lady Lounge at 18th and Grand presents Ken Lovern’s OJT  from 6:00 – 11:00  followed by The Reyes Brothers Organ Trio from 11:30-2:30.

 The Majestic at 931 Broadway features the Peter Schlamb Trio 6:00-9:00

• Eddie V’s, 700 West 47th Street, has the Charles Williams Trio from 6:30 – 9:30.
• Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has live music from 6-10.
• Café Trio features Mark Lowrey from 5:00-8:00PM 
• The Voo Lounge at 1214 Baltimore has  a Jazz Jam led by the Michael Pagan Trio from 7 – 11.  Instrumentalists and Vocalists are welcome to sit in.
• Westport Coffee House Theater Presents Arnold Young @ 6:00

• The Phoenix at 8th and Central has Curlz of Oz from 7 – 11pm

Thursday, December 12^th

• The Blue Room has its Jazz at Noon Series on Thursday featuring vocalists Lori Tucker & Donna Tucker
• On Thursday, Village Presbyterian at 6641 Mission Road presents Stan Kessler at 12:15
• The Boulevard Brewing Company presents the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra’s Deck the Halls from 7:00 – 9:00
• The Green Lady Lounge at 18th and Grand presents Ken Loverns OJT from 6:00-8:00, Guitar Elation from 8:00-11:00PM and the Dawson Jones Vibes and Organ Trio from 11:30-2:30AM. In The Orion Room, the Tim Reid Jr. Trio from 9:00-12:00
• The Majestic presents the Drew Madden Trio from 6:00-9:00

Friday, December 13th

• Polsky Theater at Johnson County Community College presents the Owen Cox Nutcracker at 7:30
• The Majestic presents Dawson Jones upstairs from 5:30 to 9:00.  Downstairs in the Jazz Club it’s The Harrison Richter Trio from 6:00 to 10:00 
• Eddie V’s, 700 West 47th Street, presents Eclipse from 6:30 – 10:30.
• The Green Lady Lounge presents Ken Lovern’s OJT from 6:00 – 10:00, The RSS Trio  from 10:30- 2:30. Downstairs in the Orion Room Danny Embrey’s Trio plays  from 7:30 – 10:30 followed with the Stan Bock trio 11:00-12:00
• The Black Dolphin has The Tim Whitmer Quartet  from 6:30 – 9:30 followed by Tim Reid, Jr. from 9:45 – 1:00 am 
• Corvino Supper Club features Desmond Mason from 5:30-8:00 and then it’s the Ben Leifer Trio from 8:30 – 10:30
• The Blue Room has the Indigo Hour featuring the  J Love Band at 5:30, followed with The Joe Cartwright Quartet at 8:30 and 10:00 pm
• Stock Hill at 4800 Main presents Marty Wall from 8 – 11
• Johnnies in the Power & Light presents Annalee and the Lucky So-and So’s 6:30-10:30

• Johnnies in Liberty presents the Ernesto J Band from 6:30-10:30
• The 1909 Club in Lee’s Summit features  live music from 6:00 – 10:00

• Sullivan’s in Leawood has the Max Groove Duo from 6:00 – 9:00.
• The Market at Meadowbrook at 4901 Meadowbrook Parkway has Scott Emmerman from 4:30 – 7:00 
• The Atrium at the Jazz Museum at 18^th & Vine hosts a showcase for the Jazz Academy Sunday at 4:30
• Lonnie’s Reno Club at 1111 Grand features Lonnie McFadden from 7- 9 pm
• Café Trio features live music from 5:00-8:00PM
• The Shop Cigar Lounge in Kansas City Kansas presents Herschel McWilliams from 8 – 10
• The Phoenix  has Talya and her Boyfriends from 4:30PM – 8:30 followed by Lauren Ashley until 1:00AM
• The Mutual Musicians Foundation in the historic 18th and Vine district Hosts its legendary late night jam sessions from 1-5am. 

Saturday,December 14^th and Sunday December 15th

• The Green Lady Lounge presents the Rod Fleeman Trio Saturday from 2:30-5:30,  Then its Ken Lovern’s OJT playing from 6:00-10:00 followed by The RSS Trio from 10:30 to 2:30. Danny Embrey’s Trio plays downstairs from 7:30 – 10:30, followed by the Matt Hopper Trio 11:00-2:00. Sunday the Green Lady features the Matt Hopper trio from 6:00-9:00 pm followed by the Mark Slimm Trio 9:30 -2:00AM
• The Black Dolphin has Millie Edwards  from 6:30 – 9:30 followed by Tim Reid, Jr. 
•  Corvino Supper Club features Andrew Wray from 5:30 – 8:00 followed by Kelley Gant from 8:30 -10:30 PM on Saturday.  Sunday it’s the Matt Otto Quartet 7-9:30pm
• The Blue Room presents The James Ward Band  8:30 – 11:00 Saturday.

• Eddie V’s presents Max Groove Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 and Sunday from 6:00-9:00
• The Majestic on Saturday presents Dawson Jones upstairs from 5:30-9:00, downstairs in the Jazz Club its the Brant Jester from 6:00 – 10:00.  On  Sunday, Brant Jeste will be performing from 6:00-9:00

• Its the KPR Big Band Christmas Show featuring the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra at the Liberty Theater in Lawrence Saturday at 8:00 pm

• The Mutual Musicians Foundation in the historic 18th and Vine district Hosts its legendary late night jam sessions 1-5am Sat
