This is the KKFI jazz calendar for March 24th – March 30th. This is shared for the benefit of jazz music lovers. Please check with the music venues to confirm details of the events. All times are Central Standard Time. All performances are afternoon or evening shows except where indicated with words like “noon” or “brunch.” 

Monday, March 24th

  • The Green Lady Lounge at 18th and Grand presents the Brian Baggett Trio from 6:00 – 10:00 followed by The Mark Slimm Organ Duo, 10:30 to 2:30  
  • Eddie V’s at 700 West 47th Street presents the Emily Dix Collective from 6:30 – 9:30. 
  • The Blue Room Monday Night Jam Session starts at 7:00 pm and is hosted by Chris Hazelton with special guest Emily Dix. Musicians bring your axe
  • The Majestic at 931 Broadway presents Matt Villinger from 6:00-9:00PM
  • Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has The Matt Villinger Duo from 6-10.

Tuesday March 25th

  • On Tuesday, the Midwest Trust Center at Johnson County Community College presents the KC Bass Ensemble at noon
  • The Green Lady Lounge at 18th and Grand presents the Matt Hopper Trio from 6:00 – 10:00, followed by Jeff Shirley Trio from 10:30PM-2:30AM
  • Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has The Emily Dix Duo from 6-10.
  • Eddie V’s at 700 West 47th Street presents the Max Groove Trio from 6:30 – 9:30. 
  • The Majestic at 931 Broadway presents Matt Villinger from 6:00-9:00PM
  • The Phoenix at 8th and Central hosts a jam session with Rob Trib III from 7 – 11pm. Musicians bring your ax
  • The 1909 Club features the Lee’s Summit Jazz Orchestra from 6:00-9:00PM
  • Café Trio at 4558 Main features Michael Pagan from 5:00 – 8:00

Wednesday, March 26th

The Green Lady Lounge at 18th and Grand presents Ken Loverns OJT From 6:00 – 11:00  followed by The Reyes Brothers Organ Trio from 11:30-2:30.

 The Majestic at 931 Broadway has the Peter Schlamb Trio from 6:00-9:00PM

  • Eddie V’s, 700 West 47th Street features the Charles Williams Trio from 6:30-9:30PM
  • Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has The Jackie Myers Duo from 6-10.
  • Café Trio features Mark Lowrey from 5:00-8:00PM 
  • The Voo Lounge at 1214 Baltimore has a Jazz Jam led by the Michael Pagan Trio from 7 – 11.  Instrumentalists and Vocalists are welcome to sit in.
  • Westport Coffee House Theater presents Nick Hmeljak at 6:00PM
  • The Phoenix at 8th and Central has Curlz of Oz from 7:00-11:00PM

Thursday, March 27th

  • The Green Lady Lounge at 18th and Grand presents Ken Loverns OJT from 6:00-8:00, Guitar Elation from 8:00-11:00PM and then it’s the Mark Slimm Duo from 11:30PM-2:30AM. 
  • The Majestic presents the Matt Villinger trio from 6:00-9:00
  • Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has The Brant Jester Duo from 6-10
  • Sullivan’s features the Delynia Brown Trio from 6:00-9:00PM
  • 6:30-10:30
  • Johnnies in Liberty presents Tim Reid Jr. 6:30-9:30
  • Johnnies in the Power & light features live with Lauren-Ashley 6:30-9:30
  • The 1909 Club features Jackie Myers from 7:00-10:00PM
  • Eddie V’s, 700 West 47th Street, presents Eclipse from 6:30 – 9:30.
  • The French Market features Mire Pral from 5:30PM-8:00PM
  • Café Trio features Tim Whitmer from 5:00-8:00PM
  • The Phoenix at 8th and Central has Chloe McFadden from 7:00-11:00PM

Friday, March 28th

  • The Majestic presents Peter Schlamb upstairs from 5:30 to 9:00.  Downstairs in the Jazz Club it’s The Roger Wilder Trio from 6:00 to 10:00 
  • Eddie V’s, 700 West 47th Street, presents Eclipse from 6:30 – 10:30.
  • The Green Lady Lounge presents Ken Loverns OJT from 6:00 – 10:00, The RSS Trio  from 10:30- 2:30. Downstairs in the Orion Room Danny Embrey’s Trio plays from 7:30-10:30PM Followed by the Sam Platt Trio from 11:00-2:00AM. On Saturday moring the Dawson Jones Vibes Duo performs from 11:15-2:15PM
  • The Black Dolphin has The Tim Whitmer Quartet  from 8:30 –11:30 followed by the Dawson Jones Vibes Quartet until 1:00AM
  • Corvino Supper Club features Matt Hopper from 5:30-8:00 and then it’s Kelley Gant from 8:30 – 10:30
  • The Blue Room has the Indigo Hour featuring Darron J & Go Hard Band at 5:30, followed by Erin Jones & Tiff Sings with shows at 8:30 and 10:00 pm
  • The Ship at 1217 Union Avenue presents KC Green at 6:00 followed by Alber and Maldetti from 9:00 – 1:00
  • Stock Hill at 4800 Main has Marty Wall from 8 – 11
  • The 1909 Club features Kevin “Church” Johnson from 6:00-10:00PM
  • Johnnies in the Power & Light presents Alex Abramovitz and his Swing’n Kansas City Band 6:30-10:30
  • Johnnies in Liberty presents Herschel McWilliams  from 6:30-10:30
  • McGregor’s Butcher and Bistro in Overland Park features Kathleen Holeman and Stan Kessler from 7 – 10 pm
  • Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has The Baby J. Duo 6-10.
  • Sullivan’s in Leawood has the Max Groove Duo from 6:00 – 9:00.
  • The Market at Meadowbrook at 4901 Meadowbrook Parkway Features Lynn Zimmer 4:30 – 6:30 
  • Lonnie’s Reno Club at 1111 Grand features Lonnie McFadden from 7- 9 pm
  • Café Trio features live music from 5:00-8:00PM
  • The Shop Cigar Lounge in Kansas City Kansas presents The Drew Madden Trio  from 8 – 10
  • The Phoenix  has Talya and her Boyfriends from 4:30PM – 8:30 and then it’s Lauren  Ashley from 9:00PM until 1:00AM
  • The Mutual Musicians Foundation in the historic 18th and Vine district Hosts its legendary late night jam sessions from 1-5am. 

Saturday, March 29th and Sunday March 30th

  • The Green Lady Lounge presents Dawson Jones at 11:15 AM followed by the Rod Fleeman Trio Saturday from 2:30-5:30. Then it’s OJT playing from 6:00-10:00 followed by The RSS Trio from 10:30 to 2:30. Danny Embrey’s Trio plays downstairs from 7:30 – 10:30, followed by the Brian Ward Organ Trio 11:00-2:00. Sunday the Green Lady features Matt Hopper from 6:00-9:00 and the Mark Slimm Duo from 9:30PM -2:00AM
  • The Black Dolphin has The Tim Whitmer Quartet  from 6:30 – 9:30 followed by Alex Abramovitz until 1:00AM
  • The Blue Room presents Bobby Watson featuring Denise Thimes from 8:30 – 11:00 Saturday.  
  • Corvino Supper Club features Eddie Moore Saturday from 5:30-8:00 and then it’s Lorna Kay & the One Night Stand from 8:30 – 10:30.  Sunday Drew Williams appears at Corvino from 6:30 – 9:00
  • Sullivan’s in Leawood has the Saturday Night Trio every Saturday from 6:00 – 9:00.
  • Eddie V’s presents Eclipse from 6:30 to 10:30 and Sunday its the Charles Williams trio from 6:00-9:00
  • The Majestic on Saturday presents Dawson Jones upstairs from 5:30-9:00, downstairs in the Jazz Club its the Brant Jester from 6:00 – 10:00.  On  Sunday Peter Schlamb appears at the Majestic from 6:00 – 9:00
  • KC Bier Company features Bram Wijnands Saturday and Sunday from 3:00-5:00 
  • The Market at Meadowbrook at 4901 Meadowbrook Parkway features Cynthia Van Roden from 4:30 – 6:30 Saturday
  • The 1909 Club in Lee’s Summit has vocalist Amanda Fish, Saturday from 6 – 10:00 pm
  • Johnnies in Liberty presents Rudy Amato Saturday from 6:30-10:30
  • Lonnie’s Reno Club features Lonnie McFadden from 7:00 – 10:30 Saturday.

  • Chaz at the Raphael Hotel, at Wornall and Ward Parkway, has the Tim Reid Jr. Duo from 6-10 Saturday and on Sunday its The Mengel & Monty Duo Sunday from 6:00 – 10:00
  • The Shop Cigar Lounge in Kansas City Kansas presents Jackie Myers from 8 – 10 Saturday
  • The Phoenix features The Piaget Experience from 4:30 – 8:30  followed by the Smokin J’s until 1:00AM.  Sunday it’s Millie Edwards and Dan Sturdevant playing the Phoenix brunch from 10:00AM – 2:00 PM
  • Café Trio  features Mike Moreland Saturday from 6:00 – 9:00  
  • The Westport Coffee House Theater on Sunday features The Aaron Sizemore Quartet at 6:00PM 
  • The Mutual Musicians Foundation in the historic 18th and Vine district Hosts its legendary late night jam sessions 1-5am Sat
