Maria Vasquez Boyd

Maria Vasquez Boyd is a painter/artist/writer and founding member of the Latino Writers Collective in Kansas City Missouri. Her work is published in Primera Pagina, Cuentos Del Centro, Everyday Other Things, Salt Magazine, America Now and Here, Kansas City Renga, Present magazine, and other publications. She also works in the community facilitating writing workshops in public and private schools, colleges, and the Migrant Workers Project.

Currently, Boyd is the producer, engineer and host of ArtSpeak Radio, that features live discussion with artists and writers from the surrounding Kansas City community.

Boyd is a member of the Ukulele Fight Club of Kansas City singing and playing the ukulele and Two Little Birds, that performs original children’s song and storytelling.

Boyd continues to teach art, illustrate, and exhibit work around the world. Exhibits include Mattie Rhodes Art Center, Nelson Atkins Museum, American Jazz Museum, Mexican Museum of Chicago, Museo de Tangacicuaro, and Xalapa, Veracruz.
