Sharon Anne Lockhart, Co-Host of Every Woman

Sharon Lockhart became a volunteer at KKFI 90.1FM in 1995. She was soon invited to join Joan Flaherty on Working Women. Eventually the show morphed into Every Woman, and is now an hour show highlighting issues women face in the workplace, home and society. The show airs live on Saturday from 3 – 4 PM. with local guests, women and men. Occasionally, we may have a telephone interview with a nationally prominent advocate/activist/author.

The show covers all topics as women are more than ‘pap smears’ and mammograms.’

Lockhart qualified as an ‘Active’ member in 1995 and has maintained by fulfilling the annual requirement of additional hours to be a voting member.

KKFI gives her the voice to help inform and remind of the indignities and outrages women and their families face in their lives every day and the outlet to encourage action to change and improve women’s lives.

Lockhart credits the male dominated securities industry for her evolution to “feminist” and business owner. In her professional career, Lockhart is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ , and Registered Principal. Her broker/dealer is Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., Member FINRA/SIPC. She has been providing financial and retirement planning,, investment advice and brokerage services to a diverse range of clients since 1981. Financial articles have been published in the Massachusetts Law Review, Evolving Woman and Small Business Monthly and the KC Star.

During the Anita Hill Hearings in 1991, and after 10 years in the securities industry, she realized the ‘good ole’ boys’ were never going to let her in their club. She immediately joined organizations working for the equality of women. Currently, she is a member of National Organization For Women, OWL-The Voice of Midlife and Older Women, Gray Panthers, Women’s Political Caucus, and American Friends Service
Committee. Professional memberships include Financial Planning Association, Financial Services Institute, Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts and Financial Divorce Association.

Sharon Lockhart has been a KKFI 90.1 FM volunteer since 1995 and has been working with the “Every Woman” show for most of that time. In addition to her service as a KKFI volunteer, Sharon is an advocate and activist for peace and social justice, actively supporting American Friends Service Committee; the Gray Panthers of Mid-Missouri and Kansas; the Johnson/Wyandotte Counties chapter of National Organization for Women; OWL-the Voice of Mid-Life and Older Women; and Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus.
