Our Social Dynamics Through a Depth Psychology Lens

In this week’s edition of RadioActive Magazine,  we will identify the existential threats of human-induced global warming and mass extinction of species as multipliers of generalized fear and panic among our collective human consciousness.  .  These dynamics give greater energy to the rise of illiberal and authoritarian movements worldwide and here in the U.S., threatening the viability and stability of democratic, egalitarian governments.

Extreme polarization, acceptance of psychotic conspiracy theories by millions, the “Big Lie” the 2020 election was stolen, and the Jan. 6 insurrection have created the greatest challenge to our democracy since the Civil War.  This week, our discussion will “dip our toe” into the assessment of these dynamics from the lens of Jungian depth psychology.  Our guest, Dr. Lois Wilkins, is a Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist with a specialization in Depth Psychology.  Dr. Wilkins was an officer in the U.S. Navy, where she participated in the military psychiatry residency program, is the author of two volumes on the Alchemy of Fairy Tales, is deeply connected with the Kansas City Friends of Jung, and is in private practice with Eagles Nest Mental Health in DeSoto, Ks.
