Carol Coburn & Alice Kitchen: Delegation to El Salvador

Kansas Citians CarolĀ CoburnĀ and Alice Kitchen went on a week long delegation to El Salvador recently commemorating the death of the 4 Church women tortured 35 years ago by US funded Salvadorian militia.
This week on Tell Somebody, they will talk about the Ā deaths of 75,000 people (murdered, tortured, raped, and or disappeared). This includes the children left behind with no parents who were given to the elites or adopted out to families in the US.
Alice Kitchen writes: “We witnessed the sites where the women were killed, where the 6 Jesuits and their housekeeper were shot at point blank in their garden.
We participated in a press conference with the Ombudsmen for El Salvador who is pressing to bring Colonel Carlos EugenioĀ VidesĀ Casanova to trial for the abhorrent assassinations of the four women. We heard the stories of the survivors and one of the family who fled to Honduras to live in a refugee camp for 8 years and the journey back to their village.
Our experience was numbing.
The US million dollar a day budget to El Salvador did horrific damage and created unimaginable terror and grief that has not yet been acknowledged let alone have reparation occurred on the part of the US or the government of El Salvador.”
