A Discussion on the “Insect Apocalypse” with Half-Earth Project naturalist, Dr. Piotr Naskrecki

The Half-Earth Project was co-founded by E.O.Wilson, one of America’s most pre-eminent biologist, whose purpose is to save half of the oceans and land for the preservation of most of the biodiversity on Earth.  In his book, The Creation (2006), E.O. Wilson states:  “The human hammer having fallen, the sixth mass extinction has begun.

Dr. Piotr Naskrecki is the First Chair of the Half-Earth project, and he joins Eco-Radio to discuss the “Insect  Apocalypse”, the severe impacts on their populations from pesticides, habitat loss, and global warming, as well as the absolutely essential role insects play in the health of the Living Earth.  E.O. Wilson describes Dr. Naskrecki as the “best naturalist in the world”.
