A Tribute to Bette Tate-Beaver, educator, peacemaker.

A tribute to Bette Tate-Beaver, educator, peace-maker and Executive Director of the National Association for Multi-cultural Education (NAME), who joined the ancestors on Sunday, August 29, 2021.  Bette Tate-Beaver and her partner Lewis Diuguid, have been frequent guests and friends of Urban Connections public affairs program and KKFI for many years.

Bette saw multicultural education as a partial solution to societal oppressions created and sustained through unequal, often harmful school systems. By blending her voice with that of her partner Lewis Diuguid, NAME articulated social justice positions with eloquence and veracity.
