Urban Connections
Urban Connections conducts guest interviews covering issues effecting our local, national, international and global communities from a Black perspective. Subjects include current events, trends, history, education, economics, science, political science, health, race, law and more.
Global One Urban Farming, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, grows organic vegetables from seed, and distributes the produce free in Kansas City to low-income families, neighborhood associations, youth, veterans and senior citizens to help those in need in our USDA defined food deserts, and to raise health levels in those communities.
Every month Global One Urban Farming distributes produce boxes to 150 households. In 2021, including during the pandemic, and with the help of partners, Global One distributed vegetables to 1,800 households. The organization has donated thousands of pounds of vegetables in Kansas City, Missouri and the surrounding communities. Over 100 volunteers have participated in the effort.
Global One Urban Farming has a new program where the youth will learn agriculture & entrepreneurship throughout the year.
