We focus on providing opportunities for LGBTQ theater artists to tell their own stories and share the diversity of queer experience with Kansas City audiences. We do queer theater with a Whimsical edge.

Our next production is a delightfully offbeat romantic comedy by professional playwright Adam Bock titled Swimming in the Shallows. This Kansas-City-premiere production begins previews on November 8th and runs thru November 23rd. It is a hilarious exploration of some of the problems and anxieties underlying modern relationships, be they man-woman, woman-woman, or man-shark (yes, I said shark!).

KEVIN PAUL CALLAHAN-My philosophy is simple: Composition, Story, Elegant Line. “If you find the elegant line, your work will be lyrical.” I produce works in pencil, acrylic, watercolor, found objects, and digital photography. I completed a Painting Intensive at the San Francisco Art Institute, studying with world renown Israeli artist Larry Abramson and at at the Ox-Bow School of the Art Institute Chicago under Phil Hanson and Michelle Grabner. I earned my BFA from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. My studies included an emphasis in painting and printmaking. My work is hanging in private collections throughout the United States and Europe. In 2009 I received the Tony Award, a traveling art award honoring individual artists on Fine Art America. I have both studio and gallery (The Elegant Line) at my in home Parkville, Mo where I reside with my wife, Karen. For a virual tour of my studio/gallery: http://youtu.be/SdwRt1Ro5KQ
