JONATHAN CHRISTENSEN CABALLERO is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Utah. He received his A.S. in art from Snow College and a B.F.A in ceramics and sculpture from Utah State University and a M.F.A. in ceramics from Indiana University. “I have exhibited nationally and internationally in venues such as the Clay Center of New Orleans in Louisiana, Standard Ceramic Supply in Pennsylvania, Carbondale Clay Center in Colorado, and Tsukuba Museum of Art in Japan. I recently moved to Lawrence, KS and became the Interdisciplinary Ceramic Research Center Artist in Residence at University of Kansas. My work has been featured on the cover of Ceramics Monthly’s September issue 2020 and am a recipient of the ISC Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. My work focuses on the human figure and advocates for the Latin American labor community.”

BYRON CONSTANCE-Lawyer Turned Artist; In the midst of a professional career requiring a rather intense left-brain focus, Byron Constance found it refreshing, stimulating and surprising to discover satisfying opportunities for right-brain expression. Not until he was well into his fifties did he uncover a latent talent for creating art, encouraged by workshops at Kansas City Art Institute, Loveland Academy of Fine Art and Scottsdale Artists’ School. He most enjoys sculpting in bronze and terra cotta, although he also works in oils, acrylics and wood.
Constance was a founding director of ArtsKC and serves on the board of Englewood Arts and on the Independence Mayor’s Advisory Commission on the Arts. His current project is the creation of a life-size bronze statue of Captain Harry Truman in his 1918 WWI uniform, for placement on the Independence Square later this year.
