August is Tom Hall Month on the Tasty Brew

Local Singer/Songwriter Tom Hall is my friend and has been a strong supporter of 90.1 FM KKFI.   Tom has been thrown one of life’s major curve balls currently dealing with treatments for non-Hodgkins lymphoma.  His music inspires me every day.  I will be celebrating his music most especially during the month of August in preparation for an epic show for his benefit organized by his friends and hosted by Knuckleheads Saloon on Sunday, September 2.

Performances by Tom’s friends and Kansas City music juggernauts Samantha Fish, Trampled Under Foot and Kelley Hunt will make this a cannot miss show.  A review in Music Reviews Quarterly once said of Tom, “Whatever life has dished out to Hall over the years, he has learned to find some pleasure in it, and he transfers that to his music both in construction and in implication each time a note is played. Hall likes horns, he likes grooves, and he likes the sound of a full band- piano, organ, guitar, bass, drums – jamming together with a focus.”  Yep, that’s him.
