Birds of Chicago

Our guests this week are JT Nero and Allison Russell, together known as Birds of Chicago. Defying categorization, their brand of rock and roll poetry centers around the vocals – Nero’s fractured country soul croon and Russell’s smooth tones create a harmony blend that’s truly captivating. Fueled by the band, it’s a full tilt revival – streamlined poems, deep grooves, sharp hooks and joyful singing straight from the heart.  They discuss ongoing work on their new album being produced by Joe Henry.  We spoke with JT and Allison in our Albuquerque studios.
