WINGS
WINGS: Women's International News Gathering Service is an all-woman independent radio production company that produces and distributes news and current affairs programs by and about women around the world.
Discussion among an all-star group of scholars and journalists, at the National Association of Black Journalists’ conference in 1991. Panelists: Dr. Julianne Malveaux, economist and syndicated columnist; Dr. Gwendolyn Grant, psychologist and columnist for Essence magazine; Dorothy Gilliam, first Black woman columnist for the Washington Post – who was writing a book on racial diversity in the media; and Dr. Niara Sudarkasa, an anthropologist and the first woman president of Lincoln University.
