Bluegrass Battles Hunger and New Releases on The Tasty Brew

Host Diana Linn welcomes local songwriter Julie Bennett Hume to the Tasty Brew to get the 411 on this year’s Bluegrass Battles Hunger…. a 2 day benefit bluegrass festival September 23rd and 24th in downtown St. Joe, MO  featuring national, regional, and local acts.  Bluegrass Battles Hunger started in 2009 as a Leadership St. Joseph group project. The idea was to organize an annual concert event where proceeds would support Second Harvest Community Food Bank. The group organized a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation to oversee the event.  We’ll spin some tunes from artists performing at the benefit including Whiskey for the Lady and Sally and the Hurts.

The spigot of new Americana Roots music does not show any signs of slowing down…this week’s playlist includes new releases from Adam Hood, Caleb Caudle, Courtney Patton, Kansas City’s own Olivia Fox, Gullywasher and much much more!
