Carbon, Culture and Change

Co-hosts Dave Bennett Freeling and Brent Ragsdale bring you field recordings from the Prairie Festival at the Land Institute in Salina, KS.  Celebrating it’s fortieth year, the event has been called  “an intellectual hootenanny” in The New York TimesThis year’s theme is Carbon, Culture and Change: From the Ground Up.    Held September 27-29th along the banks of the Smoky Hill River, the festival revolves around “low tech” presentations by notable guests in The Land Institute’s Big Barn.   Listen to the sounds of visionaries and geniuses Ann Zimmerman, Bill McKibben, Anna PorzecanskiWes Jackson, Fred Iutzi and Amory Lovins.  Join us for this remarkable event on the prairie and be sure to check out the great scientific work being done at the Institute.
