Colton Cox, The Matchsellers and Woodyfest Rewind

After a quick run to Oklahoma to attend the 24th Annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah, Diana Linn is back at the controls of The Tasty Brew Music Radio Show.  Via telephone Diana will be chatting this Friday the 23rd with recent Wichita, KS transplant Colton Cox and Andrew Morris and Julie Bates of the Matchsellers.  This week’s playlist also includes a rewind of Diana’s highlights from Woodyfest including Betty Soo, Jaimee Harris, Bonnie Whitmore, Chris Buhalis and more!

Colton Cox, now Kansas City based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, embarks on The Jolly Giants Tour with fellow KC artist and local Kansas City favorite, Calvin Arsenia. The tour will be in promotion of Cox’s first solo record, Internal Combustion, which will make its grand, worldwide debut on July 24th. The duo will begin in Wichita, KS at Brickyard on the 22nd, then return to Kansas City on the 23rd for a meet and greet (with a small teaser of music from Cox’s record, Internal Combustion) at Mills Record Company, followed by the main event; the official Internal Combustion record release show at The Rino in North KC on the 24th. Cox and Arsenia will then finish the tour with a final performance in Lawrence, KS at the Replay Lounge.

Also this Saturday July 24th,  the stars will align and three fine fiddlers from across the Midwest will gather for a performance at the K.C. Strings Conservatory. There will be Irish, there will be country, there will be bluegrass and oldtime and all kinds of fiddling in between, as these craftsmen (and women!) take the stage with their musical partners.
