Conflict Is Not Abuse

This week, we present excerpts from a talk in Vancouver by Sarah Schulman, author of the book Conflict Is Not Abuse: Overstating Harm, Community Responsibility, and the Duty of Repair.

Schulman is the author of a dozen novels, a playwright and nonfiction writer. She has had a long activist career, including being a founder of the Lesbian Avengers, an early member of ACT-UP, and an advisor to Jewish Voices for Peace. She is now a Distinguished Professor of the Humanities at College of Staten Island (CSI) and a Fellow at the New York Institute for the Humanities.
