The One Kansas City Radio Spotlight is collection of programming produced and broadcasted by One Kansas City Radio (KONN-LP 100.1 FM).
In our first 30 minute segment, host Leslie Scott interviews Rachel Russell, Vice President of the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools Board. Rachel tells her story of being a teenage parent and how she overcame the difficulties of attending college while parenting a young child. Rachel also serves as the Director of Community Engagement for Cross-Lines Community Outreach where she is responsible for community partnerships and collaborations that benefit the organization and Wyandotte County as a whole.
In our last segment, Leslie interviews Pauline Eatmon-Johnson, CEO and Owner of Scholar Smarts, a non-profit and LLC that supports competency-based learning systems and has been recognized by the State of Missouri Success-Ready Student Network Innovation Zones. Scholar Smarts was recognized for supporting the work of the Innovation Zones by serving as experts on essential employability skills needed by students and helping educators make connections to real world learning opportunities.
