Some big union contracts are up this year. Will they begin a turnaround in labor’s fortunes? There was a near strike on the West Coast docks by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union; The Oil Workers had an unprecedented strike over safety at our oil refineries, and auto negotiations with the Big 3 begin soon and the issue is two tier wages.
