EcoRadio KC airs each week at the dinner hour – it’s time to talk about food.  Our show will feature a discussion with Chef Michael Foust, Owner of Black Sheep Market +.   Foust converted Black Sheep & Market from a carryout restaurant model into the Black Sheep Community Kitchen & Market located on 39th Street in midtown Kansas City.

Foust is in the unique position to provide meals, not only those who can pay but also to those who pay as they are able.  Foust says they are trying to figure out where they fit into the city’s feeding efforts and how to  alleviate some of the stress that has hit our community.

They began with generous donations of food from providers and have been able to stock a walk-in – Black Sheep Community Kitchen & Market.  Noticing a need for affordable Farm to Table fare, the owners and managing staff created a concept of comfortable yet elegant dining on historic W. 39th St and opened Black Sheep + Market,  a sit down or carry out restaurant.

The farm to table concept is a restaurant that utilizes relationships with local food producers to turn proudly produced food into proudly produced fine food to eat.  Food that is good for your health and hunger –  a way of treating yourself well that is also good for the planet.

We at EcoRadio KC are glad to encourage awareness and protection of our world. We can create a sustainable present for a sustainable future! This will be a great radio hour!
