Despite eulogies to the contrary, REAL classic Country Music is alive and well in Kansas City. One of the finest purveyors of that genre (including the so-called Neo Honky Tonk and Ameripolitan wheelhouses), Dusty Rust, has a new album “Stolen Horse” out this month and he joins Diana Linn to tell the tales.
With a strong DIY work ethic, Dusty has self-produced two full length albums in the last two years and now presents “Stolen Horse.” Starting out with a residency at The Landmark Saloon in Portland, OR, it wasn’t too long before it paid off with opportunities to open shows for acts such as: Dale Watson, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Luke Bell, and The Calamity Cubes. His current musical home is the Westport Saloon in Kansas City.
With a kick ass band featuring Chelsea Rae on bass, Adam Watson on drums, and Chad Graves (The Hillbenders) on Pedal Steel, Dusty and company are constantly working the road. Their brand of music fits in well in almost any environment, including doing longer nights of mixing in originals to covering Waylon Jennings and Hank Sr/Jr, Bluegrass to Rockabilly.
Tune in to the Tasty Brew Music Radio Show Tuesday, January 23 2018 from 6-8 am to hear the best in Americana/Bluegrass/Country and Roots Music!!!
