The Forum
The Forum is a platform for the discussion of significant issues. Guest speakers typically focus on issues of political, social justice, moral, educational and artistic significance. Each presentation is followed by questions and discussion.
Joy Lohmeyer, LMSW, of Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, will present a brief overview of modern hospice programs, including the range of services they provide. She will also discuss the appropriate timing for initiating hospice care and highlight the key benefits of utilizing these services for both patients and their families. Joy will explain the difference between hospice and palliative care, who pays for hospice services, and how a person can help their loved one get hospice services started.
