Jaws of Justice Radio investigates how we can achieve justice from a system of laws deeply rooted in economic, social and political inequality. We want to dispel misconceptions created by the news and entertainment industry, politicians and our educational system. We hope you will listen.
Tune in Monday to hear host David Bell as he speaks with Pastor Kayla Meredith, Warrensburg, Missouri First United Methodist Church Senior Pastor. Pastor Meredith has learned that viewing everyone as a gift – including those persons in the criminal justice system – helps her overcome fear and the judgment that follows fear. When she overcomes her own fear and judgment, she is able to provide support to others.
We will play the calendar in the midpoint of our hour.
The word “fear” appears numerous times in the Bible; as does the word “afraid” and the phrases “do not fear,” “fear not,” or “be not afraid”. The frequency of these phrases shows us that every day, life will present circumstances and situations which can generate fear, doubt, worry, and unbelief. Wouldn’t it better to choose to live by faith? Let’s examine the differences between faith and fear:
Faith is a belief and trust. Fear is a doubt and unbelief. Faith can lead to a serene well-being, fear can lead to a state of dread, uneasiness, worry or anxiousness.
Today on Jaws of Justice, we will examine what motivates us to feel fear and learn ways to motivate faith in ourselves and others.
