Foolkiller Folk Mix Tape

Val was listening to KKFI earlier this week and heard someone refer to the station as “one giant mix tape”.  Not only is that very true, it became the inspiration for Sunday’s show.  If you listen to Foolkiller Folk regularly, you know that Mark & Val, Bob & Diana, and Kathy all do similar but different shows.

So this show is going to be a folk music mix and match with Mark and Val and Kathy (Bob and Diana would be here but for the COVID restrictions at the station).  And what we’re showing up with will be a surprise – to each other as well as to you.  We’re going to grab whatever music we feel like playing and bring it in to showcase KKFI’s individuality for your listening pleasure.

If you haven’t yet noticed, KKFI is a welcoming station – programmers are welcome to play what they think you should hear; listeners are welcome to call in and talk to the programmers and show hosts while they’re on the air, to submit playlist, podcast, and show ideas, to come down and volunteer, to take over the airwaves as a Guest DJ (pretty much everyone on the air just walked into the station in some capacity).

And you’re more than welcome to help keep us on the air!  KKFI has survived for over 30 years through donations from listeners like you.  This Sunday Foolkiller Folk has a goal 18 or more people calling in and $2500 or more raised.  If this is the only money raising Sunday this drive.  We all remember when we called in our first pledge (Val’s was $25.00).  If you listen but have never taken the next step of donating, now’s the time. Every new donor gets a KKFI tote bag (and remember that Guest DJ spot – it would make a great gift for Valentine’s Day)
