Join us for a farewell to longtime KKFI Programmer and DJ Groovy Grant, as he will be saying farewell to the Kansas City airwaves.
After 33 years on the air, KKFI’s beloved Groovy Grant has decided to retire from the airwaves. As host of OG’s Hangout, one of KKFI’s longest-running programs… Groovy Grant has presented a vintage classic format show designed to educate and increase the awareness of the compliments and contributions made by Afro-Americans.
Groovy is one of a kind. Between his archive interviews and deep musical knowledge, Groovy is a well-respected historian of Kansas City’s true musical heritage. On behalf of KKFI’s Board, Staff, and Volunteers… we want to send our deepest gratitude and thanks to Groovy for his long-standing commitment to KKFI and the Kansas City community. We also want to thank his dedicated listeners who have tuned in every Wednesday to hear Groovy’s musical selections and historical perspectives.
