Jaws of Justice Radio investigates how we can achieve justice from a system of laws deeply rooted in economic, social and political inequality. We want to dispel misconceptions created by the news and entertainment industry, politicians and our educational system. We hope you will listen.
Tune in Monday to hear host Bev Livingston speak with Rev. Thomas “TJ” James, Lead Organizer, Transformational Justice with More².
MORE2 was created in 2004 as a social justice organization representing different faith traditions, cultural backgrounds, races, and economic means. The organization included twelve congregations and has now grown to thirty-two congregations and many individual members. They are united in commitment to transforming our communities, building a Kansas City area that embraces all people and offers everyone the opportunity to achieve their greatest potential, breaking down barriers that divide us by race and class. Rather than providing services or programs, they work to change policies through grassroots movements, in ways that promote racial and economic equity in Kansas and Missouri.
Please listen to hear about the great accomplishments of More², and learn of upcoming events that will be the greatest yet! Thursday, September 19, 2024, reception beginning at 5 PM and dinner and program at 6 PM, More² is hosting their 20th Anniversary Gala. Tune in to learn how to obtain tickets to this exciting event!
During the second half of Jaws of Justice, host Terri Wilke will speak with Stephanie Boyer, CEO, and Stacy Mayer, Director of Development, at reStart, Inc.
reStart exists to end homelessness in Kansas City. To do so, they believe the right thing to do is to serve and accept everyone. They tackle homelessness from all angles of the housing continuum. With more than four decades of steadfast dedication to ending homelessness, reStart uses their experience and insight to mobilize teams, partners and the larger community to address this urgent and growing need. Please listen to learn how to advocate for, and instill hope in, the most vulnerable members of our community.
On Jaws of Justice, we examine how to find justice in our society. Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.
