Iconic Kansas City Jazz artist, poet and activist Mary “Mother MaryMoses” Moore on celebrating the life and legacy of Charlie “Yard Bird” Parker. She is also celebrating her own legacy.

She is celebrating her 78th birthday, September 5, 2022. She says, “My Journey has been with GOD the whole time since I fell into that well when I was a baby down in Froggy Bottom La, seven miles from Stamps, Arkansas, where Maya Angelou wrote “ I know why the caged bird sings”, the book that changed EVERYTHING for ME.”
