Immigration Crisis on the Southern Border

While COVID-19 and Voting Rights are eclipsing most of the news, problems still exist in other areas.  Among those problems is the upsurge in immigrants and asylum seekers coming across the U.S.’s southern border with Mexico. Primarily from Central and South America, these people are rushing to the USA in unprecedented numbers.

In this episode, Nellie Fagan of the Rio Grande Borderland Ministries will give a short presentation describing their work and mission, followed by a panel discussion on the on-going crisis along our southern border. Members of the panel are from several organizations, principally Rio Grande Borderland Ministries and the Lawrence Interfaith Refugee and Immigrant Ministries.  These agencies work with immigrants at the U.S. – Mexico Border. They will discuss conditions and procedures that immigrants face and what programs are available to help them.
