EcoRadio KC is a magazine show, including live segments, prerecorded stories, and interviews. The weekly explores our interdependence with the rest of the world, showing the connections between the ways we choose to live and the health of the whole community of life.
For our show on Monday January 17th, 2021, host Richard Mabion will speak about the Kansas Legislature with Zack Pistora, lobbyist for the Kansas Sierra Club. The Kansas Legislature consists of a 125-member House of Representatives and a 40-member Senate. The Legislature convened on January 10th for their annual session and generally adjourns in early May.
You can hear discussion of issues the Kansas Legislature will face and how environmental issues will be addressed.
It’s about water – as western Kansas dries up, the Legislature will revisit water policy. It’s about air – some local governments would like there to be discussion on public mass transit. It’s about what we grow – legislation on medical marijuana will carry over to this year.
There will be a lot of differing opinions on education, voting districts, and health care. WITH ANY LUCK, OUR SHOW WILL FEATURE A SURPRISE GUEST!
