Kansas City Mayor Lucas and the City Council want to make KC the first large city with free buses. This week on the Heartland Labor Forum, we’ll find out how much it will cost, how it will be implemented and some of the hopes and fears for the project. We’ll talk to Area Transportation Authority CEO Robbie Makinen and Amalgamated Transit Union President JP Walker, as well as the UMKC economist who researched the cost.
