Introducing Savraya and New Releases in Americana/Roots

The Tasty Brew Music Show welcomes Savraya back to Kansas City! Savraya (nee Savannah Smith) is a singer-songwriter born in Liberty, Missouri. As a young child, her family relocated to Nashville Tennessee,  Ft . Worth, Texas, and currently resides near Gulfport, Mississippi giving her a unique dose of Southern American music influenced by Roots, Blues, Jazz, Country, Hip Hop, Pop, and Cajun music. She was gifted her first guitar at 16 and wrote her first song within a month. She started playing open mics. While living in Nashville she began playing writers’ rounds and started recording with Michael McCadam and other great Nashville musicians including Jimmy Lester and Dave Roe who have worked with Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakum and many more. Savraya claims no genre and keeps her mind open to past and current influences that inspire her. Her second release,  “Glass Ball,” finished first in the 2021 Ozone Songwriting Competition.  Host Diana Linn is proud to give a voice to new artists like Savraya who are at the very beginning of their lyrical life.

This week’s show also features new music from Joe Pug, Willi Carlisle, John Moreland and Innovation Festival artists The Roseline from Lawrence, Kansas, guilty pleasures from the soundtrack of a popular Netflix Series and favorites from Molly Healey, Jaimee Lee Harris and Betty Soo.  It’s a Tasty Brew!
