William Deere, acting director of the U.S. office of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), discusses the agency’s shortfall in funds and controversy over plans to address it. Dalal Yassine, a lawyer and advocate for Palestinian refugees who has written about UNRWA’s, addresses the economic and political threat to UNRWA, with Israel and the United States seeking  to deprive UNRWA of funds and limit the number of refugees it serves as a way to affect the right of return for Palestinian refugees.
