The Roots-Wise Reggae music program features Reggae music and global roots music from all over the planet. The show is an informative journey that explores and honors reggae and African world roots musical forms from their genesis through their development and into their contemporary styles.
It’s a Mind The Gap takeover of this week’s Roots-Wise Reggae—but instead of driving bass music and house, J Zed will be bringing you a cornucopia of rocksteady, dub, ska, and reggae classics from the revered Studio One, Trojan Records, and Channel One labels…think Johnny Osbourne, Coxsone Dodd, Horace Andy, Sugar Minott, The Wailers, King Tubby, Desmond Dekker, and more, plus Althea & Donna, and a cascade of new UK reggae from the likes of Juliette Ashby, Protoje, Kiko Bun, Cadenza, Blend Mishkin & Peppery, Pama International, and SO much more.
