Jaws of Justice Radio
It is the intention of Jaws of Justice Radio to investigate how to achieve justice in America, this includes issues of economic injustice, political injustice and the criminal justice system. We want to put a human face on those caught in the grasp of injustice and those that are part of an unjust system. We strive to dispel the misconceptions created by the news and entertainment industry, politicians and our educational system.
On our program for August 21st, we will replay the December 12, 2023 show that Bev Livingston created which was honored with a 2023 Hometown Media Award both for Bev and for Jaws of Justice. In this half hour, Bev speaks with Kyle J. Smith, Founder and Executive Director of Determination, Inc.
Jaws of Justice is proud of each radio program created by Bev Livingston and we are gratified that the Alliance for Community Media, the organization which grants Hometown Media Awards agrees. The Alliance for Community Media is a national organization that promotes diverse community voices, through public, educational and government access channels and other forms of media. In order for democracy to flourish, people must be active participants in their government, educated to think critically and free to express themselves. All communities have the resources, ability and right to express themselves, create community dialogue and engage in civic life through local media – this is what KKFI is ALL ABOUT.

For the second part of our hour, host Melvin Merritt will speak with Michelle (Shelly) and Robert Norris, Founders of Corey’s Network. After the murder of her son, Corey Laykovich, Michelle (Metje) Norris founded non-profit Corey’s Network as a way to support the families of homicide victims. They were stunned by the lack of organized support available to families in their situation. With Corey’s Network, they are able to help others through the greatest loss imaginable for a family. Corey’s Network offers referral services and a 24-hour hotline.
