Celebrating Art of the Song’s 20 years on the air, we revisit our 2020 interview with acclaimed singer / songwriter / song interpreter Joan Osborne. AllMusic.com declared her “the most gifted vocalist of her generation.” She’s performed with Motown’s revered rhythm section the Funk Brothers and toured with the Grateful Dead. In her album, Trouble and Strife, Joan tackles an array socio-political issues including immigration and the weaponization of misinformation while simultaneously uplifting and empowering listeners. We spoke with Joan from her home in the Catskills (you might hear her daughter practicing saxophone in the background).
