Kansas City Responds to Our Climate Crisis

Human-induced global warming is ultimately an existential threat to humanity.  In May, 2020, the K.C. City Council directed the Office of Environmental Quality to update it’s Climate Protection Plan to include new greenhouse gas reduction goals, resiliency, and equity.  The goal is creation of a carbon neutral city by 2040.  To discuss K.C.’s new climate plan, RadioActive Magazine will host Brian Platt, City Manager of Kansas City, Mo.  Brian has been city manager of K.C. since Dec., 2020, and he recognizes the importance of cities reducing their carbon footprints as rapidly as possible.  K.C.’s Climate Protection and Resiliency Plan should be available for public input soon at:  kcmo.gov/climate
