KC Farm School on Gibbs Road Empowers the Community – On-farm, Hands-on

On our January 4th show, host Terri Wilke speaks with Alicia Ellingsworth, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Daniel Robinson, Farm Manager, and Jennifer Thomas, Co-Founder and Board Chair, from the KC Farm School on Gibbs RD.   KC Farm School’s mission is to bring individuals of all ages, abilities and ancestries on-farm, hands-on empowering them to connect to land and soil, food, themselves and their community. They work closely with area schools and partner with other nonprofits.

In addition to farm experience, apprentices at the KC Farm School have the opportunity to learn non-profit management, community development, communications, green infrastructure, grant writing and homesteading skills.
