WINGS: Women's International News Gathering Service is an all-woman independent radio production company that produces and distributes news and current affairs programs by and about women around the world.
Zuleikha Hassan is one of the most outspoken members of Kenya’s Parliament. This episode covers several years of her political career, including being expelled from the floor of the Assembly for bringing her baby to work. Issues covered include breastfeeding, gender inclusive politics, violence against women and concludes with an excerpt from a speech about a crackdown on rogue boda boda drivers. Featured speakers of today’s program are Zuleikha Juma Hassan (Women’s Representative for Kwale County in Kenya’s National Assembly) and Uhuru Kenyatta (outgoing) President of Kenya.
