Lessons in Activism from LGBT Kansas

Lynn Marie Norris talks to to C.J. Janovy (jan-uh-vee), author of No Place Like Home: Lessons in Activism from LGBT Kansas.

C.J. is a writer, radio reporter, and editor. She currently works at KCUR 89.3 FM, and formerly was the editor of The Pitch Kansas City, and Director of Communications at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Her book, No Place Like Home, came out last year, and won the 2019 Stubbendieck Great Plains Distinguished Book Prize. And there are plans for production of the book into a documentary by Kevin Wilmont, who did BlacKkKlansman with Spike Lee, and Sam Zeff of KCUR.
