Lewis Diuguid, Journalist-While-Black at the KC Star and Bette Tate-Beaver, Multi-Cultural Educator on KC Star’s Apology

Lewis Diuguid, former columnist, editorial board member, op-ed page editor, and letters editor at The Kansas City Star, and published author speaks about his career as a journalist before and during his 30-year tenure at the Kansas City Star newspaper in light of the Star’s recently issued apology where “through sins of both commission and omission-it disenfranchised, ignored and scorned generations of Black Kansas Citians”. Bette Tate-Beaver, educator, president of the National Association for Multi-Cultural Education, talks about the effect of biased media on education. The Kansas City Star issued it’s apology and launched a series of “redemptive” articles on December 20, 2020.
