LIL RAY IS OUR GUEST!

Jaws of Justice Radio investigates how we can achieve justice from a system of laws deeply rooted in economic, social and political inequality.  We want to dispel misconceptions created by the news and entertainment industry, politicians and our educational system. We hope you will listen.

Our guests are Lil Ray and Michelle Russell-Lewis. Lil Ray is a poet and rap artist who has been recently released after 21 years in prison.  Michelle Russell-Lewis is his aunt.  Lil Ray is going to share with us some of his artistry, including his rap and he will read some of his poetry.  On March 17, 2025 from the Newz Room Café, 6020 Blue Ridge BLVD in Raytown, MO, Lil Ray is livestreaming an event which anyone can listen to on Facebook.

Lil Ray will also share his story of mass incarceration.  When he was sixteen, along with associates who were older, he did commit a crime.  Lil Ray was arrested and sentenced.  He tells the story of crime – based on the crime he committed; he has served his entire young life in a prison facility.

Information about the prison system is limited, and policy makers and voters are shaping the lives of incarcerated people without their input. We’re bringing transparency to the world of mass incarceration from someone who was on the inside.  We will hear Lil Ray, his poems and raps and we will talk with him about the criminal legal system.  We will hear ideas for reform. Lil Ray has a message.

On Jaws of Justice, we examine how to find justice in our society.  Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.
