Mary Esselman, CEO, Operation Breakthrough Speaks About Positive Childcare. Replay from Archive

Operation Breakthrough, a nationally accredited not-for-profit corporation, has been helping Kansas City families since 1971. It was started by Sister Corita and Sister Berta in response to requests from parents in the central city for quality childcare for children of the working poor.

The mission of Operation Breakthrough is to provide a safe, loving, and educational environment for children in poverty and to empower their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education. Operation Breakthrough cares each weekday for more than 650 children, ages 6 weeks to 14 years. More than 80% of the enrolled families live below the federal poverty guidelines, most far below the guidelines. Operation Breakthrough relies on the generosity of this community to continue its work.

Our guest today is Mary Esselman, President and CEO of Operation Breakthrough.  We will discuss how children are impacted by issues of criminal justice.
