The Forum
The Forum is a platform for the discussion of significant issues. Guest speakers typically focus on issues of political, social justice, moral, educational and artistic significance. Each presentation is followed by questions and discussion.
Join Dr. Valerie Mendoza for an exposition on the segregation faced by Mexicans — and American citizens of Mexican descent here in the Kansas City area. Dr. Mendoza focuses on segregation in education, but touches on other areas where prejudice and segregation affected the lives of brown-skinned people here. She will also highlight efforts to overcome these situations and how the Mexican community responded.
