During our initial 30 minute segment, host Dr. Gene Chavez interviews Nicholas Segura – the creator of a talent agency which serves to bring ethnic models into mainstream advertising. Nicholas started in the studios of Hallmark Cards as a child. Then, his father, Robert Segura a photographer at Hallmark Cards, used Nicholas as his assistant. Back then, his father suggested that when he got older, Nicholas should start an agency that represented ethnic models because they were difficult to find, and roughly fifteen years ago that’s what happened. Nicholas has been representing and directing talent with ethnic looks for print, broadcast and multilingual voice-over work.
In our final 30 minute segment, Crystal Everett continues her series of interviews with urban core educators of the Kansas City Public School System.
