On Explorations we start with top stories in science; origin of the Universe, the big bang. We all listen to stories and that interest helps our understanding. Science and the history of scientific events are very interesting to learn.
Next, Michio Kaku speaks about women in science with George Johnson, writer for the New York Times Science section and author of many books, including Miss Leavitt’s Stars: The Untold Story of the Woman Who Discovered How to Measure the Universe. Henrietta Leavitt got to be scientist, which was unusual because of her gender, but she never got credit for her discoveries. We use her scale to measure the Universe but she never got credit. There are other females who suffered the same fate.
Exploration is an hour-long radio program on science, technology, politics, and the environment. Topics covered include black holes, time travel, higher dimensions, string theory, wormholes, search for extra-terrestrial life, dark matter and dark energy, the future of space travel, genetic engineering, the aging process, the future of medicine, the human body shop, artificial intelligence, the future of computers and robots, as well as topics from science fiction.
