On Explorations this week Dr. Michio Kaku talks about the Hadron Collider and how it is up and running. He says it is so huge it requires discussion with two scientists!
His first guest is Brian Greene, author of the Expanding Universe. Brian Greene is a physicist and string theorist who has discussed the expanding universe and the possibility of a multiverse in several of his talks and writings
Michio Kaku next speaks with Lisa Randall, an American theoretical physicist and Frank B. Baird, Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University. She is the author of Warped Passages. Her research includes the fundamental forces of nature and dimensions of space.
Kaku says the Hadron Collider is not likely to create a black hole, however, it will answer many questions about string theory.
Exploration is an hour-long radio program on science, technology, politics, and the environment. Topics covered include black holes, time travel, higher dimensions, string theory, wormholes, search for extra-terrestrial life, dark matter and dark energy, the future of space travel, genetic engineering, the aging process, the future of medicine, the human body shop, artificial intelligence, the future of computers and robots, as well as topics from science fiction.
