On Explorations this week Dr. Michio Kaku talks about origins for the full hour.
Science has a responsibility to have reproducible evidence. Science believes the origin of the universe is the cosmic explosion, and evolution is the evolution of our species. His first guest is Simon Lehna Singh, MBE, a British popular science author, theoretical and particle physicist. His written works include Fermat’s Last Theorem, The Code Book, Big Bang, Trick or Treatment? Alternative Medicine on Trial and The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets. He and Dr. Kaku will discuss the big bang.
In the second part of the hour, Dr. Kaku speaks with Dr. Spencer Wells, biologist and National Geographic commentator, about the origin of humanity. Wells wrote The Journey of Man: A Genetic Odyssey, a 2002 book, in which he uses techniques and theories of genetics and evolutionary biology to trace the geographical dispersal of early human migrations out of Africa. The book was made into a TV documentary in 2003.
Science is the engine of society.
Exploration is an hour-long radio program on science, technology, politics, and the environment. Topics covered include black holes, time travel, higher dimensions, string theory, wormholes, search for extra-terrestrial life, dark matter and dark energy, the future of space travel, genetic engineering, the aging process, the future of medicine, the human body shop, artificial intelligence, the future of computers and robots, as well as topics from science fiction.
