On Explorations this week Dr. Michio Kaku begins his hour with a scientific mover and shaker, Dr. Robert Lanza, expert in biotechnology. Robert Lanza is an American scientist and author who pioneered research in cloning and stem cell biology. He was the chief scientific officer at Advanced Cell Technology, where he led research on embryonic stem cells, endangered species, and tissues. In the 21st century, our interests can be dominated by biotech, such as the ability to clone organisms. Science is a double-edged sword. We can use that knowledge for good or for ill. Cloning is the manipulation of life itself.
Next, Michio Kaku speaks with Lester R. Brown, an American environmental analyst, founder of the Worldwatch Institute, and founder and former president of the Earth Policy Institute, a nonprofit research organization based in Washington, DC. Lester Brown has been referred to as “one of the great pioneer environmentalists”. Michio Kaku and Lester Brown will discuss, what is our plan B? What is the good and the bad with respect to our future?
Exploration is an hour-long radio program on science, technology, politics, and the environment. Topics covered include black holes, time travel, higher dimensions, string theory, wormholes, search for extra-terrestrial life, dark matter and dark energy, the future of space travel, genetic engineering, the aging process, the future of medicine, the human body shop, artificial intelligence, the future of computers and robots, as well as topics from science fiction.
